Lilian Youssef

Co-Founder and Director

Lilian C. Youssef has been in the healthcare industry for over 20 years. She has a BS degree in Healthcare Management. Born and raised in Lebanon, she knows firsthand the immense lack of health services for the poor and needy.

She started Egatha with the hope that her team can help patients through one act of love at a time.

Mikayla Boutros

Community Development & Communications Lead

Mikayla Boutros is a dedicated individual with a passion for serving others. Mikayla is a Siena College graduate with a degree in Biology and a minor in Healthcare Management and is currently pursuing her legal education at Albany Law School. She supports community engagement, public messaging, and initiatives that expand the foundation’s reach.

Karen Marino

Treasurer & Accountant

Karen Marino serves as the Managing Director of Underwriting for a private commercial finance company, specializing in underserved markets. She is a mother of three and has a passion for serving others. She has traveled abroad to serve in various ministries and was very moved by Egatha’s loving mission. Karen is honored to be part of Egatha’s mission.

Noah N. Youssef

Logistics & Operations Lead

Noah has been involved with the Egatha Foundation since its beginning and now oversees operations and logistics. He helps coordinate events, organize resources, and support the day-to-day planning that keeps Egatha’s initiatives running efficiently. Noah has completed a Master’s in Biomedical Engineering and is currently at New Jersey Medical School.

Natalia Youssef

New Initiatives Lead

Natalia has been with the Egatha Foundation since its beginning, helping shape its growth while bringing clinical insight and compassion as a medical student at Albany Medical College. She supports event planning, fundraising, long-term initiatives.

Youhanna Charchar

Accounting Operations Associate

Youhanna is studying at Rutgers Business School, he supports the foundation’s financial operations by recording donations, expenses, and reimbursements, maintaining organized records, tracking budgets, and assisting with financial reporting.

Afaf Michel

Afaf Michel Minari, MD, DTMH

Co-Founder/Head of Lebanon Operations

Dr. Minari graduated from the Lebanese University Medical School and did her training in internal medicine at the American University of Beirut Hospital. Afterward, she specializes in infectious diseases at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, Ohio. She was also trained in tropical medicine and hygiene at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical medicine. From 2002 to 2013, Dr. Minari was part of 11 medical missions in Asia and Africa through MSF, MDM, and ICRC. She has been working as an infectious diseases specialist at Rafic Hariri University Hospital since 2010 and is a volunteer physician at the Karam El Zaytoun dispensary in Beirut.

Mireille Mattar, MD

Team Physician

Dr. Mireille Matar is a team member physician for inpatient care at the Sacre Cœur hospital in Baabda district Lebanon. She has a diploma in internal medicine and infectious diseases from the Lebanese University. She also obtained a certificate in Infectious Diseases from“Université Libre de Bruxelles”, Belgium. Right now, she is a core physician infectious diseases specialist at Sacre Coeur Hospital, and Baabda Governmental University Hospital.

Dr. Mia Marwani, MD

Team Physician

Dr. Marwani graduated as a medical doctor from the Lebanese University with a specialization in internal medicine and endocrinology. She joined the Egatha volunteer medical team in July 2022 to provide medical care for patients suffering from diabetes and other endocrinology problems.

Dr. Slaiman Said, MD

Team Physician

Dr. Said graduated from Lviv National Medical University in Ukraine and obtained his diploma in internal medicine from Beirut Arab University where he specialized in pulmonary and intensive care. Since 2017, he has been the director of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Chtoura and Al Mayyas hospitals. He is also the medical director of Mekseh Health Center located in the Bekaa district of Lebanon where many deprived Lebanese patients live. Since August 2021, he has worked with Egatha to select the poorest Bekaai patients to be supported for their inpatient and/or outpatient medical care.
