U.S. TEAM MEMBERS

Lilian Youssef

Founder & Director

Lilian C. Youssef has been in the healthcare industry for over 20 years. She has a BS degree in Healthcare Management. Born and raised in Lebanon, she knows firsthand the immense lack of health services for the poor and needy.

She started Egatha with the hope that her team can help patients through one act of love at a time.

Josephine Koury

Director of Operations

Josephine is an incoming AM Candidate in Middle Eastern Studies at Harvard University. Josephine recently graduated from Lafayette College having earned a dual degree in International Affairs and Government & Law. Josephine has specifically focused her studies on the Middle East and North Africa and global conflict and cooperation.

Shannon Daoud

Board Member

Shannon Daoud is an acting advisor for the Egatha foundation. She has been the owner and CEO of two small businesses for the past 15 years. She has a BS in Health Sciences and MS in Occupational Therapy with a specialty in Pediatrics. She is also a proud mother to three wonderful children. In her own words, “It is my honor to work with a fabulous team who will strive to be efficient and effective in helping to provide medical services to those unable to achieve it on their own in Lebanon.” She is truly an asset to this team.

Sophia Das

Board Member/Advisor

Sophia received her undergraduate degree in Public Health at Franklin and Marshall College and is currently pursuing her MBA at the Gabelli School of business in New York alongside running her own technology startup. Prior to starting her company, she worked with non profits such as UNICEF, Physicians for Human Rights, Afripads, Community Solutions and spent her free time volunteering with Compassus Hospice, Hands Offering Hope Foundation and heading grassroots community efforts to support Liberia with Ebola Relief during the 2014 Ebola Outbreak in West Africa. In 2008 she founded Sounds for Souls with a mission to bring music education to children in Liberia and India, which then pivoted to providing music relief to hospital and hospice patients during the height of the COVID -19 Pandemic in 2019.

She is humbled and excited about the opportunity to join an amazing team of people working towards a common goal of providing hope for a better future to families in Lebanon and hopes to bring her past and present experiences to her work with the Egatha Foundation.

Teresa Charchar

Social Events Organizer

Teresa Charchar is currently in a gap year before attending medical school. She has a BS in Neuroscience from Rutgers University and teaches chemistry to undergraduate students. She has a strong passion for service; she’s actively riding as an EMT during a global pandemic. Teresa wants nothing more than to support and provide medical care to those from her home country.

Melissa Rizk

Social Media Coordinator

Melissa Rizk is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, a practitioner who provides behavior-analytic services to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She received an MS in National Security Studies and an MEd in Special Education with a Sequence in Applied Behavior Analysis. She has a strong passion for service worldwide. She has been on multiple overseas mission trips working with missionaries that help those in poverty. Although it is more difficult now more than ever to travel, she knows there are other ways to contribute to those in need across the world. The mission of Egatha Foundation touched her heart and she is excited to be a part of a beautiful cause.

Isabella Hanna

Marketing Lead

Isabella is a Masters of Business Administration Candidate while currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Management and Marketing at Monmouth University. Her professional experience thus far has been tailored to the nonprofit and healthcare industries. She has a love for service and hopes to incorporate charity into all aspects of her life.

LEBANON TEAM MEMBERS

Afaf Michel Minari, MD, DTMH

Co-Founder/Head of Lebanon Operations

Dr. Minari graduated from the Lebanese University Medical School and did her training in internal medicine at the American University of Beirut Hospital. Afterward, she specializes in infectious diseases at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, Ohio. She was also trained in tropical medicine and hygiene at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical medicine. From 2002 to 2013, Dr. Minari was part of 11 medical missions in Asia and Africa through MSF, MDM, and ICRC. She has been working as an infectious diseases specialist at Rafic Hariri University Hospital since 2010 and is a volunteer physician at the Karam El Zaytoun dispensary in Beirut.

Mireille Mattar, MD

Team Physician

Dr. Mireille Matar is a team member physician for inpatient care at the Sacre Cœur hospital in Baabda district Lebanon. She has a diploma in internal medicine and infectious diseases from the Lebanese University. She also obtained a certificate in Infectious Diseases from“Université Libre de Bruxelles”, Belgium. Right now, she is a core physician infectious diseases specialist at Sacre Coeur Hospital, and Baabda Governmental University Hospital.

Sandy Diab, MD

Team Physician

Dr. Sandy Diab is a graduate from Lebanese University Medical School and is trained in Internal Medicine And Endocrinology. She also has a DFMS(Diploma en formation médecine spécialisée) in Endocrinology and diabetology from University of Paris, France. She is currently practicing at three different sites: Clinique du Levant Hospital in Keserwan, the Lebanese Army Public Hospital in Beirut, and the Karm El Zaytoun dispensary in Beirut.
